This was my first Southern California wedding I booked since moving to the area. I was so excited when Lauren reached out to me after looking for a photographer in a local mom’s group that we’re both in. We hit it off immediately, which was so nice with her small, intimate wedding fast approaching.
Her ceremony was being held at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana, CA. That was my first time in that building, and wow… so much character. It was beautiful! There were so many different couples with their families there, filling the halls. But when Lauren and Derek saw each other, it’s like they were the only ones in the building. When it was their time for their ceremony, they walked into the quaint little room and said their vows and exchanged their “I do’s.” It was a simple and sweet ceremony, and it was even more beautiful as they were surrounded by their closest friends and family.
After the ceremony we went to a Long Beach park to do their family photos and couple photos. It was a beautiful little park surrounded by the harbor with boats. The sunset lit their faces beautifully and the sun-kissed look was just so stunning. Their connection was undeniable and their love was just so beautiful to watch. Plus, I was so excited to be photographing a bride in a gorgeous lace jumpsuit. I mean c’mon! Stunning! We even captured a little bit of maternity photos for them too, since these two were expecting a little one together. So exciting!
After the photos we moved over to Tantalum Restaurant in Long Beach for their dinner reception. Again, it was filled with their closest family and friends and it was just so beautiful to see. Lauren even changed from her jumpsuit into a beautiful flowy dress.
This wedding was absolutely beautiful! I loved the sweet intimate moments between them and their families. The day was surrounded by what mattered most: Lauren and Derek’s love.
