If you’re planning a courthouse wedding in Orange County, the Old Orange County Courthouse is one of the most beautiful and iconic options available. This California Historical Landmark opened in September of 1901 on Civic Center and Broadway Streets. The beautiful building is one of the prettiest courthouses in Orange County to get married. Here is my photographer’s guide as to why that is and my personal experience with photographing dozens of weddings there.

Located in downtown Santa Ana, this historic courthouse offers couples a wedding experience that feels intentional, timeless, and surprisingly romantic.

Unlike many modern courthouses, the Old Orange County Courthouse features:
It’s especially ideal for couples who want their wedding photos to feel elevated without feeling staged.

Some of my favorite spots for portraits include:

Most of my couples have appointment times during weekday mornings/early afternoons and I’ve always found that light to be really nice. We can have fun with the direct light outside, get creative with the shadows inside… I mean really, any time of day works incredibly well there.

I also offer a 2 hour package that allows time for us to walk away from the Courthouse and venture a bit more into Downtown Santa Ana. Specifically a really cute, modern coffee shop that I love to take my couples too. They get to share their first drink as a married couple, and the photos are always amazing.

This courthouse is perfect for:
Whether you’re getting married with two witnesses or a small group of friends and family, this space adapts beautifully.

If you’re planning a wedding here and want photos that feel natural, inclusive, and true to you, I’d love to help.
